Double Room is intellectually thrilling and compulsively readable while straddling both fiction and nonfiction. The book is made up of four parts, each of which is in turn divided into two sections. While these four "double rooms" initially seem independent, as the narratives never cross, they quickly reveal a subtle network of links, echoes, and thematic parallels that bind them together. As it progresses, Magrinyà's nuance and intelligence only become more apparent.
